The GERSTEL-MOSH/MOAH Sample Prep solution, with fully automated sample preparation and introduction, enables effective determination of mineral oil residues in food extracts, body care products and packaging in just 30 minutes. The intuitive integrated software enables simple and efficient data processing for both single samples and batch processing modes, including user-defined data reporting.

 

 

The GERSTEL-MOSH/MOAH Sample Prep solution is based on the online combination of an HPLC system with a GC-FID system. The GERSTEL multifunction sampler (MPS robotic) automates sample preparation and introduction.
In the initial LC stage, the mineral oil residue is separated into two fractions: mineral oil saturated hydrocarbons (MOSH) and mineral oil aromatic hydrocarbons (MOAH). The two fractions are transferred to two separate GC columns. The dual-channel GC/FID system allows for the simultaneous determination of MOSH and MOAH fractions.

 

 

The solution meets the requirements of DIN EN 16995: 2017-08. LC and GC chromatograms are displayed in real time to facilitate method development or to optimize switch times for MOSH and MOAH fractions.
